     We are pleased to announce the Island Astronomy Incorporated for the purpose of expanding our educational and public service programs. On September 17, 2004 the Island Astronomy Institute was incorporated as a Non-Profit in the State of Maine.
     The Maine Space Grant Consortium has agreed to develop a special project to help fund programs of the institute while it is awaiting the 501(C3) status from the IRS.

     Our lectures for the spring & summer season of 2005 will be posted on the website soon. You can also watch for our scheduled series in the local newspapers. 
     Click on the link to the left for a brief description of some of the presentations presented during the last season.  We will be adding more topics to the series in the coming season.            

     We wish to thank all those who turned out during the winter lecture series as we toured the local libraries.
